What We Believe

The Scriptures

We believe in the verbal inspiration and authority of the Scriptures.

God

We believe that there is one God, a living intelligent Spirit, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth; eternally expressing Himself through three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, co-equal and co-eternal. We believe that the material universe came into being by direct creation at the word of God.

Sin

We believe that man was created in innocence but fell by voluntary transgressing; that because of this fall, all men are now sinners from birth, with no spark of divinity and must be born from above to be fit to fellowship with God

Virgin Birth of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary in a miraculous manner, that is, that He was virgin born.

Salvation

We believe that salvation of the sinner is wholly of grace and made possible alone through the vicarious death of Jesus Christ upon the cross of Calvary; that there is salvation in none other and that all that is necessary for salvation is an acceptance by faith of His infinite work.

Justification

We believe that justification includes pardon from sin, the gift of eternal life, and perfect standing before God. We believe that the believer is eternally secure.

The Local Church

We believe that the local church is a congregation of immersed believers, associated by covenant of faith and fellowship in the Gospel; that the local church has the absolute right of self-government and is answerable only to the Lord Jesus Christ, her head; that in all matters of membership, policy, discipline and benevolence, the will of the local church is sovereign.

Church Ordinances

We believe that there are two church ordinances, Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; Baptism is immersion of the believer in water.

Temporal and Eternal Separation

We believe that there is a radical difference between the righteous and the wicked; that the former will enjoy everlasting blessedness with God, and the latter (wicked) will suffer everlasting separation from God in hell.

Second Coming of Christ

We believe in the personal, visible, pre-millennial return of of our Lord for His church.
